Trauma-Informed Yoga

Trauma-Informed Yoga is a body-based practice designed for people who have experienced stress or trauma and are looking to feel more at home in their bodies again. Rather than focusing on perfect poses, this approach centres on creating a sense of agency, grounding and calm in a supportive group setting.
Led by our team of gentle and supportive yoga teachers, our classes are accessible for every body. We prioritise choice, autonomy, and nervous system awareness, creating a welcoming environment where you can move at your own pace and honour what your body needs on any given day.
  • Feel safe and grounded in your body
  • Understand the connection between trauma, the nervous system and movement
  • Rebuild trust in your body through gentle, choice-based yoga
  • Learn breathwork and mindfulness techniques to support healing

What to Expect

Research shows that yoga can support individuals affected by trauma by helping them feel safer in their bodies, increasing emotional awareness, and improving their ability to manage difficult feelings (Van der Kolk et al., 2014).
Body-based practices like yoga tap into forms of healing that go beyond words — supporting regulation and reconnection in ways that traditional talk therapies may not always reach. While Trauma-Informed Yoga is particularly helpful for those with PTSD, it can benefit anyone wanting to rebuild trust with their body and restore balance.
Rather than focusing on perfecting poses, Trauma-Informed Yoga prioritises safety, choice, and empowerment. It’s an approach grounded in care — designed to help you feel more present, more grounded, and more in control within your own body.

Mindful Movement Classes

Mindful Movement combines gentle movement, breathwork and guided meditation to help you reconnect with your body and mind in a grounded and accessible way. These classes are designed to support nervous system regulation, improve posture and body awareness, and reduce stress and anxiety.
Each class is built around a body–mind theme (such as support, strength or trust), with 20–30 minutes of mindful movement followed by a 15–20 minute guided meditation.
Mindful Movement is suitable for everyone — whether you’re new to yoga, returning after a break, or simply looking for a slower, more intentional practice..
  • Gentle, supportive poses using props (bolsters, blocks, blankets)
  • Breathwork techniques to support relaxation
  • A non-judgemental space that honours where your body is at
  • Benefits may include reduced anxiety, better sleep, and improved self-awareness

What to Expect

Our movement classes are designed to support your nervous system and help you reconnect with your body. Whether you need to unwind and de-stress or lift your energy and mood, each class offers a supportive space to move with purpose and intention.
Calming Movement classes focus on slowing down. With gentle, deliberate poses, calming breathwork and the use of props for comfort, these sessions help activate your parasympathetic nervous system — the part responsible for rest and recovery. They’re ideal if you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or simply need time to pause and reset.
Energising Movement is for when you’re feeling flat, fatigued or low on motivation. These sessions use dynamic movement, uplifting breathwork and strong, expansive poses to boost circulation, awaken your body and elevate your mood. Think of it as a reset that leaves you feeling stronger, clearer and more alive.
Both styles are trauma-informed, beginner-friendly and accessible to all levels. You’re welcome to move in a way that feels right for you.
